Eval Comments:
"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.
He was easily collared by the by the runner in the catch pen. He entered the play yard with soft body language. He approached a male husky and immediately became tense, with a high stiff tail, forward body posture and hackles raised. He began to hover his muzzle near the husky's neck. Ahandler broke his focus and steered him away using a spray bottle. He
was then approached by a female shepherd and exchanged a soft greeting with her. He began to roam the yard and explore.
Periodically, he kept focusing on the male dog and tensely trailing him. When the male dog would stop moving. Churo would posture up in front of him, with a high stiff tail and hackles raised. He would then either hover his muzzle near his neck or sometimes neck press him. Ahandler had to break his focus each time and steer him away. He required constant supervision and intervention from the handlers when around the male dog. Due to his behavior around the male dog and displaying no issue with the female dog (he is also kenneled with a female dog), he will be designated as female dogs only required. Due to an incident in the previous home of killing a cat that entered the back yard, he willbe designated as no cats required and will require a known history of aggression disclosure fom.
