He was easily collared by the runner, but he was a little head shy. He entered the play yard with soft body language. He approached a female shepherd and exchanged a soft greeting with her. He was then approached by a male shepherd and exchanged a soft greeting with him. He began to calmly roam the yard and explore. He was tolerant of dogs trailing him to sniff him. He continued to roam the yard and exchange soft greetings with other dogs. A high energy male shepherd began to playfully pawat him and push him, trying to entice play. He appeared wary of this and had wide eyes, but he tolerated it and offered no corrections or warnings for space. Eventually, he just took a couple of steps backwards himself. He remained calm and social for the rest of his time in the yard, but he appeared more comfortable around the calmer dogs. He did not approach the handlers to seek engagement. Rocky is social with the other dogs, but he displayed no play style at this time and would likely do best with a calmer dog. See handling assessment for further stipulations.

He was taken to the catch pen for the handling assessment after play group. The handler knelt and called to him, but he did not approach. He The handler slowly approached him and picked up his leash. He allowed the handler to pet his head with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check his teeth with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check his ears with no reaction. He allowed the handler to touch all his paws with no reaction. He allowed the handler to touch his tail with no reaction. Although he allowed all areas to be handled, he remamed frozen m one spot with concemed eyes and a low head.
He displayed no negative or conceming behavior toward the handler, but he is timid. He was retumed to his kennel without issue. Due to his timid nature and need for a slower approach, he would likely do best in an adult only home or with older respectful kids.
