dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on suoundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.'
He was at the back of the kennel when the handler entered. He remained frozen and was easy to loop leash. The handler knelt and called to him. He approached with slowly and put his head on the handler's leg. The handling assessment was conducted inside the kennel due to him having URI. He allowed the handler to pet his head with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check his teeth with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check his ears with no reaction. He allowed the handler to touch his front paws with no reaction. When the handler touched his back paws or tail, he would pull them away.
He displayed no negative or conceming behavior toward the handler. He is timid and does best with a slower approach. Due to this and some mild handling sensitivities, he would do best in an adult only home or with older respectful kids.
