Description Owner surrender reason: Grew up with cats and foster kittens. Dog was eating and the kitten approached the bowl. Nari snapped fatally injuring 2 month old kitten. Playgroup notes: 'The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.' She was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. She entered the play yard with soft body language. She was approached by a female shepherd. She had wide eyes and created space away from her. She was then approached by a male shepherd and displayed the same behavior. She began to calmly roam the yard and explore. She mostly kept away from the other dogs during her time in the yard, but she appeared more tolerant of very calm dogs. She would approach one of the handlers often and seek affection. She would do best with a very calm dog that will respect her space and boundaries. Due to an incident in the previous home, she will be designated as no cats required and will require a known history of aggression disclosure form.
