'The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A
dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and
unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change
based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.'
Lily A5777517 greeted the runner with a relaxed demeanor, she was easy to remove, and she moderately pulled on leash. In
the catch pen when she was introduced to the dogs her body was tense, she growled, she flashed her teeth at the dogs, her tail
was low with no wag, and her ears were slightly pinned back. She was easy to collar and leash. The yard was thinned out
prior to her entering the yard. She entered and was tense during her greetings. She curled her lip and flashed her teeth at the
dogs anytime they approached her. When a playful dog attempted to play with her, she snapped at her. The handlers quickly
stepped in and corrected her using the spray bottle along a verbal correction. She stopped and sat by one of the benches.
Anytime the dogs approached her, she would flash her teeth, tense up, and growl. She was removed from the yard after that
to not overwhelm her no further. Lily was defensive of the dogs and does not have a playstyle at this time. Behaviorally ok
for public adoption, no large dogs required.
