Eval Comments: The behaviors described to day reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A
dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out'or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.
He was relaxed with soft eyes as the runner easily clasped the collar around his neck. He postured his body with wide eyes and raised his hackles as a female shepherd came up to the fence. As she pressed her nose against the fence, Quavo began growling and snarling. Quavo slowly scanned the yard as he took slow, deliberate steps entering. He slowly walked up to a female pit bull with hackles raised and froze while side-eyeing her. The handler walked him away. He then repeated the same behavior with a male shepherd, slowly approaching and froze. The handler walked him away once again. He then approached a friendly mastiff, froze, side-eyed and began growling. The handler walked him out of the yard at this time. He was waiting for the other dogs to provoke a response from him. He may do best as the only dog in the home.
