Lightning is a stunning German Shepherd mix with a handsome brown-and-black coat and a gentle, loving personality. At 82 pounds, he's a big boy, but beneath that strong frame is a sweet soul who seems a little lost and confused about how he ended up at the shelter.
Sadly, Lightning was held through his 10 day stray hold period, and no one came to reclaim him. He often looks as though he's searching for the family he once knew, and it's heartbreaking to see such a loyal-looking dog waiting and wondering.
Lightning is friendly, easy-going, and gets along well with his kennel mate. He appears to have limited vision or blindness in one eye, but it doesn't slow him down one bit. He navigates just fine and remains happy, affectionate, and eager for human companionship. His condition only adds to his character and makes him even more deserving of a loving home.
This handsome boy has so much love left to give. He deserves a family who will see beyond the shelter walls and recognize the wonderful companion waiting inside.
