Description: I am a male, 46.10 lbs, tan and black Akita and German Shepherd Dog.
Age: The shelter staff think I am about 1 year and 4 months old.
More Info: I have been at the shelter since Mar 08, 2026.
I am an at risk animal. Please contact the shelter for more information.

STAFF OBSERVATIONS
03/08/26 strong dog needs 2 hands on leash when handling.
03/12/26 Dog was easy to leash. Walks well on leash. When in play-yard, dog is toy motivated. Plays fetch and solicited affection from handler. Re-kenneled with no issues.
03/16/26 15:00 Dog participated in playgroup and was observed accepting greets and giving corrections.
04/04/26 Dog participated in playgroup today. Dog kept to self for duration of time in playgroup.

04/22/26 Dog Participated in playgroup style today.
05/12/26 Dog participated in play group style today.
05/28/26 Dog participated in playgroup style today.
06/09/26 Dog participated in playgroup.

07/21/26 Dog appears to continue to decline in shelter environment. Dog is presenting signs of kennel stress, spinning and alarm barking in kennel during walk through.
MEDICAL NOTES
03/08/26 12:35 BAR, friendly on exam. Possibly face shy - kept moving face away when checking teeth & trying to administer intranasal bordetella. Microchip scan negative. No obvious injuries or deficits. Aged ~1y Administered Vectra, DA2PPVL SQ RF, Bordetella intranasal
03/31/26 11:15 Giardia positive has diarrhea lost weight will monitor in kennel.

04/04/26 13:11- still dropping weight, housing in sally port to monitor more closely, great appetite please feed 3-4 meals a day to gain weight
04/05/26 13:30 patient care: bar, sallyport patient for reason of being underweight, last seen by DVM on 4/05. patient currently on metro 250mg until 4/12.
04/05/26 08:38 eating and drinking well from previous notes still dropping weight we will increase feedings reaching out to rescue threw email also.
04/05/26 10:30 emaciated BCS 2/9 mild drooling Dx) PE including throat check by DVM + RAD neck& thorax / abdomen +/- sedation if needed - task on board Rx) Metronidaozle 250mg (trial) : 1.5 tab PO BID for 7 days
04/06/26 12:28 ACT reports patient ate food, no BM this morning. Patient appeared to have eaten most food from bowl this AM. Obtained throat, thoracic and abdominal rads, which were reviewed by Dr. Obtained new weight, which is increasing. Recheck weight on 4/10/26. RAD : ingesta filled stomach. no sign of foreign body or obstruction in GI plan) monitor for diarrhea/V reweigh P on 4.10.
04/06/26 13:04 Offered patient 2nd feeding (wet food), but patient was not interested.
04/07/26 17:58 Took pt on walk, stool and urine levels were normal. Gave pt food and water
04/08/26 10:57 Pt was written on ACT board for ND, Starting on Doxy 250 mg PO SID x 10 days per protocol.
04/09/26 13:24 QAR, edud wnl, bm 2/7.
04/11/26 12:36 P seems to be well during this time. BAR Gave 1 tube churu cat treat, 1 packet wellness shredded chicken packet, 1/2 packet tiki pure dog packet. P ate all. No signs of diarrhea in kennel
04/11/26 13:58- weight check, great on a walk eating drinking normally
04/11/26 14:15 P still losing weight despite the txs and the facts that P is eating quite well considered BW including TLI etc. there was a few drops of bloody discharge on bottom of the kennel and also dried bloody discharge on the distal tail and left hind limb. checked throat, all limbs, body surface, rectal (soft stool present, enlarged prostate), penis (yellow smegma, no bloody sign noted) - couldn't locate the source of the bloody discharge, walked P out - no blood in urine and stool greenish mucopurulent nasal discharge was seen from left nostril - not bloody though Tx) convenia SQ- for possible strep zoo, UTI, etc. monitor closely for bloody urine or bloody nasal discharge, - any potential source of bloody discharge--contacted rescue
04/13/26 11:00 seemingly more active today saw P eating dry food well no bloody discharge seen in kennel today
04/13/26 12:47 ACT reports patient ate all food overnight, drank water, has fs about 6/7. -BG
04/13/26 15:23 Observed stools in kennel with fs= 6/7. Collected samples from kennel floor to process Giardia snap test (negative) and fecal float (no ova observed). Prescribed Fortiflora SID x 10 days per protcol.
04/13/26 15:45 ok to kennel send e-mail to rescue.
04/14/26 10:20 BAR, energetic, appears to have eaten all food overnight, drank water, no signs of vomiting, urination appears wnl, bm in kennel have fs=6/7.
04/15/26 09:41- P eating/drinking well ate all pm feeding, kennel was cleaned bt ACT stool was little soft. Act moved p out to be kenneled-Recheck weight on 4/20/26
04/29/26 18:11 ACT brought up Sample for giardia due to diarrhea + Giardia Snap Test : (+) Per Protocol +Drontal : 1 SID x 3 days
05/14/26 16:58 Diarrhea found in kennel with diarrhea, tested negative for giardia. Monitor at this time.
