EVALUATION COMMENTS:
The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out'or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences. Milo A5800610 (Intact) was allowed to decompress prior to the assessment. He initially stood with a neutral posture, tolerating handling of his ears, mouth, abdomen, tail, and hind legs without issue. However, Milo made it slightly difficult to examine his front legs as he shifted his weight on them, becoming tense with a closed mouth and occasionally licking his lips while observing the handler with a concerned gaze. Once the session concluded, Milo was returned to his kennel without incident. Due to Milo's nervous nature, slow introductions are highly advised to help him become comfortable around people.
