EVALUATION COMMENTS:
'The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out'or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.' Kenneled with a fearful male dog. Sought engagement on approach, easy to leash and light pull to the yard. Was interested in the catch pen, hackles up and high/rapid tail. Once in the yard he was tolerant of dogs approaching. More tense with males that had loose body language. He was more comfortable and had looser body language with females. Did not engage in play. Shared space in the yard and mingled. Ok for public, Calm female dogs REC
